Add-ons shipping soon, omnibuses are still a ways out

Howdy all! Quick update because I've been getting questions about locking the shipping addresses. 

The Omnibus is in production, but it's a huge book and will take a while. Curse Words took 12 weeks to print and bind! OOF! AND! The printer will be sending out your books to you (which is awesome for me and my back) in custom crush proof boxes when they are finished. When we get there, I will send out a message to you about the pending omnibus shipment. If you need to, please message me about address changes at that time through Kickstarter and I can go into the system and change it.

So, why'd I lock address now? Well, since I am handling the add-ons, I've decided to start shipping them this month. Why wait for great dumb books, am I right? So over the month of August I will start personally packing and shipping all the add-ons--so those that get add-ons will get an add-on package, and then, when the book is printed, a second package with their book and stretch goals. 

Those that ordered the Curse Words Omnibus as an add-on will be getting that soon packed by itself. Good ole Tommy (Charles Soule's assistant) has the remaining books on-hand so he will be mailing those out to you.

SO! If you are moving and need to change your address, please just message me through Kickstarter and I will manually update it. Messaging me through backerkit is very poorly organized by them, so Kickstarter is the best way to make it easy for me to track.

Everything is off to the presses!

Hey you astronauts lovers! Just wanted to drop a MASSIVE update on everything GHA! 

The book is finally done! I went deep into the archives for some making of GHA shtuffs and added a bunch of never before seen pin-ups! The final book is 688 pages, plus the double gatefold, plus the end papers to make it fancy! It could've been at least 50 more pages with all the stuffs I could pack in, but eventually you don't want to a book that's a third extras. 

The plan is to pull all those unused or old pin-ups, plus other sketches and stuff into a PDF that I will send y'all--so SOON you will be getting all the PDFs in a link from Backerkit that will go to the email you use for Kickstarter. Keep your eyes peeled. AND! Since the book is finished, I'll be sending out a digital version to all of you. I know most of you will probably wait to read it physically, but for you digital only folks you can jump right in.

SO!

I've made and printed every stretch goal, every item for the black bag, AND, most importantly, the arm bands are here! They are really, REALLY, fancy. That foil really shines!

I'm in the process of making 1500 kits of all the stretch goals that will be send to South Korea and shrink wrapped in with your book! 

AND! I've printed the new issue--looks great! I used a local company called Mixam which I also used to print Curse Sword and Curse Words: After Words. Paper stock and colors are amazing! NOW I JUST HAVE TO MAKE GRIMACE'S HAMBURGER ATROCITY…

Look at how happy my buddy Danny from the UPS Store looks as he helps me load all the stretch goal and black bag printing into my car! 

So! PDFS of everything soon. I've printed out all the pages for the special editions that need to be signed, numbered, and some of them drawn on. Once that is done, I'm sending them to Korea to be stitched into your books! Gonna be so fancy!!!

AND AND. So, when will the books be done? Welllll, I'm not sure yet. Remember when that big freighter got stuck sideways in the Panama (I think) canal and the internet thought it was really funny? Well it turns out that it wasn't funny at all and created a massive ripple in the overseas freight world that is still messing everything up. SO! Overseas freight is way more expensive and will take way longer then any of the other projects I've made. SO SO! The word for now is, we don't know. Yeaaaahhhhhhh…

But I'll keep you posted as soon as I can! I'm making special edition pages and packing your add-ons which will ship separately from your hardcovers--so y'all are going to get all of those before your books.

Okay! I'll keep you all posted! Can't wait to see this damn book!!!

WOW. Beyond blown away. Never in a million years did I think I'd sell…

1,174 FREAKING COPIES OF THE GHA OMNIBUS!!!!

Seriously--you guys blew away my secret pipe dream goals for this book. A book that I had to self-publish for the first six years of it's existence because I was repeatedly told that no one would buy something so weird. Well, they were wrong and you guys are right! HAH!

On a related note, special big thanks to Image Comics--the publisher who finally gave GHA the chance in 2014. Those guys n' gals are the best and they gave me a huge opportunity with GHA letting me make 10 issues. I'm super happy to have it all together now--AND perhaps, after all the books are in your hands, I might have to do some more!

So what's next? Well, I'm finalizing the design and have the templates from the printer. My initial quote was for 1000 copies, and, uh, that certainly isn't going to work anymore! I'll be proofing the book and getting it ready to print in the two weeks while I wait for the Kickstarter funds--then it's off to press! 

The printer didn't have a definitive timeline for production since we didn't know the quantity, but I would guess it's 12 weeks at the most until I have the books. The great news is that the printer is making custom crush proof boxes to fit the books and will send them out directly to you! 

After the book is at press, I'm going to make all the stretch goal and black bag items. Then I'm sending them to the printer and they will shrink wrap them in with your books.

As for add-ons! I will be sending all add-ons out myself in separate packages from your hardcovers. The custom boxes for the hardcovers fit tight so the books won't damage themselves in transit--which means add-ons have to ship in their own boxes. I'll be sending out your survey's shortly which will allow for more add-ons and I plan on getting your add-ons out to you before the omnibus printing is finished. That's the goal at least--and I think pretty managable! 

So much to do, now--and all of it awesome. I'll keep you posted on progress and if you want to follow me on twitter and instagram @RyanBrowneArt I'll be updating along the way.

Home stretch! Moo-morial poster is finished! Note for international add-ons!

AHOY! Hello you wonderful backers! 

So thrilled we've made it this far--and that we are almost to the goal! Then the fun REALLY starts--AKA I send the book to press, start making crazy special editions and printing those stretch goals based on final numbers! YES!

NOTE FOR INTERNATIONAL BACKERS: The very limited Kickstarter add-on feature charges too much for international shipping. It doesn't have any functionality to factor in combined shipping for multiple items--which is a huge design flaw on their part. DUMB! BUT! I will be sending out the survey via Backerkit which also offers add-ons AND will calculate shipping costs based on total package weight--so, y'know, the right way. So if you are international and you added on a ton of non-digital items, I recommend changing it and just adding it on the backerkit survey that will be coming instead--with the exception of the TRADD MOORE PRINT. That ships separately in a tube no matter what so that add-on shipping is priced correctly. ON TO THE FUN THINGS…

THE MOO-MORIAL BLACK BAG POSTER will look like this and be folded in the bag. SUCH A MONSTER TO DRAW AND COLOR--BUT SO SO FUN!

AND! You've unlocked the first "Golden Ticket" stretch goal! Three packages will have a secret drawing by me added inside. Will it be you? MAYBE? Final stretch goal will add seven more of these fancy drawings!
